About Dr. Tammy

Tammy Francis, Ph.D. or Dr. Tammy is the founder and CEO of Catalyst 4 Change Global, LLC. She is also a tenured Associate Professor at a community college in Texas. She is an edupreneur. She is a Solutionist and Strategist—in the classroom (education) and in business. She is an educator, consultant, talent development leader, career development strategist, educational researcher, speaker, author, podcaster, mentor, and traveler. Learning and development are her passion, purpose, and a part of her program (and work).

Dr. Tammy has a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction. She has taught for over 24 years in the traditional educational system–grades 6-12 and higher education. As a professor and educator, she helps adults improve their reading and writing skills as well as their ability to be successful in college and life. She also helps educators prepare for the future of education and learning by sharing strategies and resources for improving curriculum and instruction.

Dr. Tammy, The Catalyst, helps women on their journey toward more to live with purpose and in purpose on purpose, while also sharing her journey. She has a holistic approach to learning and development. She works with women all over the world purpose planning so they can get what has been designed and designated for them. For this process, Dr. Tammy hosts cocoon experiences that are purpose-driven, transformative, and safe. She helps women create a strategy to upskill, reskill, and retool and provide access to resources to assist in their career transition and personal growth. Dr. Tammy’s purpose planning process includes five phases that help women clarify their vision, create an action plan, execute a strategy, and monetize their purpose. She IS the catalyst who helps women bring their ideas (dreams) to reality.

Dr. Tammy delivers professional development and training to educational institutions by providing practical strategies around: reading and writing strategies; self-care and well-being; and technology and innovation that will shape the future of learning and education. She hosts her signature AI Catalyst Summit every quarter.

Dr. Tammy has many publications, including books, chapters, and articles. Dr. Tammy’s most recent article published is titled, “Leveraging Technology and Innovation to Elevate Identity, Creativity, Ownership, and Voice.” She has authored three books titled Manifesting More: A Playbook for Planning and Living on Purpose, R.E.A.P. More: 76 Seeds for This Season, and Reading as a Social Action: Women Aspiring for More.  Her fourth book will be released in May 2026 titled, The Black Ledger, which a directory of professional women who are catalysts for change in their community. Dr. Tammy also has chapters in the books, Play in American life: Essays in honor of Joe L. Frost, You Can: 33 Stories to Uplift and Inspire Everyday People, and Stronger: A Guide for Women Entrepreneurs on Finding Hope and Motivation for Your Business During Times of Crisis. Dr. Tammy’s most recent contribution to her community and the field is her Substack, The Catalyst Notebook, where she publishes two newsletters, Catalyst Notes and EDU Catalyst Briefs.

She has served and currently serves on several local, national, and international boards– Association of Literacy Educators and Researchers, Teen Girls in Blockchain, Communities in Schools, Corpus Christi Museum of Science and History, and Corpus Christi Black Chamber of Commerce, to name a few. She has been recognized with many professional awards for her contributions to the field of education, literacy, research, and entrepreneurship. Dr. Tammy is a Finer Woman of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.
